Veterans Connect, a Greater Rochester Chamber program, Seeking Organizations to Host Free Military Interns

Veterans Connect is seeking regional employers in Greater Rochester who would be interested in hosting military interns throughout the year!

Transitioning service members are increasingly seeking in-person and remote opportunities to participate in internships in industries and roles they seek to pursue post-active duty.

Veterans Connect seeks to expand the list of host employers committed to supporting military interns within their workforce.

Quick Facts:

• These are unpaid internships because the Department of Defense continues to pay the service member their full salary and benefits throughout the entire duration. In fact, they cannot be compensated in any form.
• Internships can last as little as 30 days to 180, on average approval ranges around 90 days.
• Veterans Connect will assist in identifying and directly connecting prospective interns to host employers
• Veterans Connect will also assist in securing housing and decreasing the cost of temporary lodging while the service member is interning in person
• This provides a great opportunity for organizations to integrate fresh and dynamic talent to their workforce and support the transition experience and opportunity for Veterans while also building our pipeline of Veteran talent relocating to our region
