The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

As a member of the Advancement Talent Management team, the Advancement Systems Technical Trainer will provide constituent management systems education training to University of Rochester (UR) Advancement division, as well as staff from other University units as needed. This position will also be a key member of Advancements' internal constituent database support team, and will provide backup to the Assistant Director, Advancement Learning & Development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Advancement Systems Training

  • Delivers comprehensive, best-in-class Advancement systems training to support employee onboarding and continued education. Lead engaging, hands-on systems training sessions (in-person or virtual) for new employees, current employees looking to upskill, and/or other University staff requiring access to the OASIS and EverTrue (and future Salesforce) databases.
  • Advises on and ensures all systems access paperwork is properly completed and routed to the appropriate staff for account access.

Collaborate and Coordinate with Advancement Services

  • Together with supervisor, is responsible for regularly meeting with members from Advancement Services to stay abreast of system upgrades, changes, and training requirements. Incorporates any upgrades/changes into training materials as appropriate.
  • Serves as a member of the OASIS Support team and responds to staff questions as appropriate

Maintaining Training Documentation

  • Continue to update OASIS documentation until Salesforce system is fully implemented. Together with the Assistant Director, will lead the development and execution of all technical training elements for the Salesforce CRM implementation.
  • Write, edit, and update systems documentation, including but not limited to: end-user materials, policies and procedures, report guides, and job aids. This may involve researching the topic, finding instances in current documentation and online resources where changes need to be made, taking screen shots, updating and republishing documentation and collaborating with colleagues.
  • Communicate changes and distribute documentation updates to Advancement, as appropriate.
  • Stays up to date on, and contributes changes to, OASIS/Salesforce help files and P&P documentation.

New Hire Onboarding & Scheduling

  • Provide backup to the Onboarding & Learning Specialist, Advancement as needed, to include:
    • scheduling new hire onboarding training, as needed
  • Adding new hires to CASE and Academic Impressions memberships, as needed
  • Administering Gallup Strengths codes to new hires, and scheduling 1:1 review with Sr. Administrator of Advancement Strategic Talent Management as needed

Stakeholder in Advancement CRM Replacement Project

  • Key stakeholder and subject matter expert in designing the technical training component of the OASIS/Salesforce CRM replacement.
  • Serve as a member of the Advancement Change Management team to implement Advancement’s new CRM/fundraising database.
  • Work with Attain Partners and Advancement Services team to develop and execute all technical training elements to onboard existing and new staff members into new CRM.

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 2 years of instructional training, curriculum development, and/or adult learning or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience with Instructional Design preferred.
  • 2 years of non-profit development or higher education advancement experience; a general knowledge of institutional fundraising is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with constituent management systems, particularly Salesforce, a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Ability to translate and communicate complex functions into straightforward language required.
  • Flexibility and able to handle multiple priorities at once and meet deadlines required.
  • Proficient with using a wide range of hardware and software tools to develop and maintain instructional materials required.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills required.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to think strategically, problem solve, be innovative and use sound judgment required.
  • Highly motivated and the ability to motivate others required.
  • The ability to work well independently required.
