This role is located in Macedon, NY.

WHAT WE NEED:

The Processor role sets up equipment for processing and will batch raw ingredients in accordance with cook cards and written batch instructions. This role works across many departments and functions, and therefore, will gain a broad understanding of the BRF production processes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Sets up equipment for processing operations in accordance with product specifications and standard operating procedures.
  • Batches raw ingredients into kettles & processing equipment in accordance with Cook Cards and written batch instructions.
  • Verifies that all materials used are correct for product being produced by checking Cook Cards.
  • Handles ingredients in a manner to maintain Food Safety standards.
  • Halts process and notify QA and Supervision in the event of any observed foreign materials, out-of-specification product, process failures, or any Food Safety or Quality concerns.
  • Supports the start-up and shut down of processes.
  • Checks product to ensure quality specifications are maintained using analytical equipment as designated by the Cook Cards.
  • Observes work conditions and generate work orders for equipment or Process area repairs.
  • Communicates ongoing equipment, material, or quality concerns to incoming teams.
  • Monitors and documents critical control points, ingredient lot numbers, and real-time recording of events.
  • Validates temperature recording charts for proper operation.
  • Trains Assistant Processors in areas of validated expertise and assists with R&D test runs.
  • Assists in the cleaning of kettles and batch systems, including pumps, utensils, and general area cleaning.
  • Completes all required batch paperwork accurately.
  • Follows proper Good Manufacturing Practices including wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Adheres to all safety requirements.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of six months of previous batch/process experience
  • The ability to operate a forklift (prior experience preferred) and complete the internal certification program.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • If no prior batching experience, must be signed off on one (1) processing decks to advance to Processor from Processor Assistant.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Effectively read the cook cards, which are written in the English language, and complete batch paperwork.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrate basic mathematical competencies including, but not limited to, addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication of both fractions and whole numbers, and converting units of measurement.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment, which includes fluctuation in heat, moisture, and noise.
  • Wear Food Manufacturing GMP Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - hard hat, hairnet (head and beard if applicable), steel toes shoes/boots, and face mask.
  • Work Overtime (8-10 hours per week) to assist the organization in meeting customer requirements.
  • Display the ability to multi-task and perform essential job duties with a sense of urgency.
  • Due to SQF regulations, all employees must be able to fluently read, write, and converse in the English language.

At BRF, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $22.00 and $25.00 per hour with a shift differential of $0.75/hour for 2nd shift, & $1.50/hour for 3rd shift. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
