Overview

St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students each year. Across its five Schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre-professional programs; and master’s and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health. Job Responsibilities

The responsibilities include but are not limited to: · Working independently and in conjunction with faculty and staff to develop, establish and implement assessment policies for the school. Collect, organize and analyze data for the production of actionable information as part of accreditation maintenance, assessment and strategic planning activities. (30%) · Support faculty research projects (IRB proposals, data collection) (5%)· Provide instructional support for faculty. Assisting academic programs (majors, minors, and the Core curriculum) in the development of assessment practices, plans, instruments, strategies, and reports (10%)· Oversee Program evaluations/review initiative (15%) · Provide support for Dean’s initiatives (e.g. course scheduling, Fisherlink, state program applications, research) (10%) · Managing and maintaining assessment and evaluation records, reports, and databases of the School and of the programs within the School. Collaborating with the Office of the Registrar, Alumni Office, Office of Information Technology, Office of Institutional Advancement, Office of Institutional Research, and other key on-campus constituencies to produce accurate and timely reporting in response to accreditation, assessment, and planning requirements; (10%) · Disseminating assessment data and analysis to faculty members and professionals of the School and sharing assessment analysis with constituencies across the University to improve the learning achievement of Fisher students (10%) · Coordinating assessment activities with programs including the University Core and with academic support offices including the Center for Career and Academic Planning, the Office of Academic Affairs, the Library, the Tutoring Center, and Student Life (10%)

Education / Experience

· A doctoral degree preferred but candidates with a master’s degree and relevant experience will be considered · Experience in higher education, experience in learning outcomes assessment and/or program and institutional effectiveness assessment preferred

Competencies / Skills

The successful candidate must demonstrate: · Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Word, Excel and an aptitude for learning analytical tools and assessment software solutions as needed · Quantitative abilities sufficient to engage in assessment and evaluation analysis · Excellent organizational skills · Ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and other school constituencies · Self-direction/ability to work independently
