The referenced pay range represents the first and last step pay rates for this job, as set forth in the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Individual pay will be set in accordance with terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates work for members of the trades. Must be able to perform any or all of the duties ascribed to the group. Responsible to the supervisor for completion of delegated tasks. Must have a working telephone and be available for call-in duty. Requires all-around general knowledge, experience and skill over and above that set forth in the job description for the basic job or jobs involved. Facilitates and assures that work is performed in a safe, efficient manner and according to code. Must be able to communicate oral and written in English. Acts in the capacity of instructor, trouble shooter, specialist, scheduler, coordinator, decision maker or similar categories. Directs the work of assigned employee and works with supervisor in scheduling jobs. Checks completion of work according to schedule and insures quality of the job that has been performed. Responsible to the supervisor for the quantity, quality and costs of work that is done. This includes the work of trades staff and contractors. Responsible for keeping required records and reports requested by the supervisor: including status reports, work schedules and work orders as part of the department management information system. Participates/ assists in performance ratings of other employees of the group and in making recommendations. Performs the duties of any or all of the trades (particularly the one most familiar with). Performs service calls, work orders, routine and preventive maintenance, emergency repairs and reconditioning work using a wide variety of hand and power tools. Assists in keeping records for the trades staff in the ordering of materials, equipment and supplies. Assures compliance with safety regulations of the University and of local, State and Federal agencies, along with those set by the department. Assures that various University and departmental policies are adhered to. Performs other duties requiring comparable skills and responsibility as directed.



REQUIRES: High School Education plus relevant trade or journeyman experience and at least five (5) years experience in a particular trade and able to demonstrate a wide knowledge of experience and capabilities in other trades. Must be able to perform trade duties.Schedule MON-FRI 7 AM-3:30 PM; OCC WKNDS; RARE HOLS Responsibilities To manage the acceptance and distribution of all facilities work. To manage communication with the customer, assuring satisfaction of work performed by University Facilities and that the customer's required schedules are met. To act as the liaison with the trades mechanics and customers to ensure required resources are identified, planned, estimated, organized and scheduled prior to execution for efficient utilization of the maintenance resources. To assure the integrity of information contained in the facilities condition information database is maintained. To provide facilities condition information to appropriate University Facilities and Services departments prior to design; to recommend appropriate work actions as a result of the facilities condition information report. To develop scope of work and perform rough order of magnitude estimates. To assist in the preparation of capital budget requests. To educate and inform interested persons of University Facilities and Services work processes. Ability to engage employees by making them feel challenged and valued. Ability to work within a self-directed management team concept.
