Primary Job Expectations:
The Packaging and Crating Technician is responsible for providing high-quality woodshop and carpentry support to the packaging and crating division. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Assemble precut wooden crates using tools such as nail guns and staple guns.
- Measure, cut, and prepare materials according to project specifications.
- Safely move and secure machine parts in custom crates.
- Perform light carpentry tasks, including framing and bracing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks effectively and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory and manage lumber and materials.
- Operate carpentry tools and equipment with safety and precision.
- Ensure all packaging meets customer and company quality standards.
- Adapt to changing priorities and tasks as directed by supervisors.
- Uphold strict safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift certification and experience (preferred).
- OSHA 10 certification (preferred).
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure quality and accuracy in all tasks.
- Mechanical aptitude for working with tools and machinery (e.g., nail guns, saws, forklifts).
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a team environment.
- Physical endurance to handle repetitive tasks involving walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Adaptable and flexible in response to varying packaging and crating requirements.
- Problem-solving skills to address unique project challenges effectively.
Work Environment
This role operates in a warehouse and woodshop environment, with exposure to temperature changes, noise, and machinery. Full PPE is mandatory, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and gloves.
