This role will be based at our Williamson, NY facility.
WHAT WE NEED
This position will play an essential role in overseeing a variety of custodial tasks to maintain clean and safe buildings and grounds. Will perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Role requires a person who can work as part of the sanitation team but is also comfortable working independently. Must be a self-starter and very motivated.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Monitor/Maintain restrooms, cafeterias and break areas cleanliness and supplies.
- Vacuum office areas and clean all glass.
- Assist in maintaining and participate in the Baldwin Richardson Foods Recycling Program.
- Empty garbage containers in common areas and restrooms ensuring general areas are free of litter.
- Performs minor maintenance within office areas to include change light bulbs, hang wall art, move desks etc.
- May complete grounds maintenance duties such as trimming shrubbery, cultivating flower beds along with snow, ice and debris removal.
- Report the need for any major repairs to Manager/Supervisor.
- Report and repair emergency maintenance problems and/or environmental hazards immediately.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Must have ability to function both inside and outside in all types of weather.
- Medium to heavy work requiring prolonged or repeated standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and lifting to a maximum of 50 lbs
- Must have experience with hand tools normally used in construction, maintenance and landscaping. Requires basic knowledge of janitorial procedures.
Required Education/Experience:
- Minimum 1 year previous facilities maintenance / janitorial experience
- High school or equivalent is required.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Work Environment:
The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, and risk of electrical shock. Working around, powered equipment, slippery floors, and dusty areas. Very hot conditions during summer seasons and potential to work outside during all seasons. This position performs duties in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, hear, sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend while moving about the facility.
The noise level in the office is low and moderate to loud in the plant. Earplugs (optional), hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists), safety glasses and slip-resistant /steel-toe shoes are required in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards. At BRF, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $19.00 and $21.00 per hour. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
