Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring optimal product availability on the sales floor, maintaining organized stockrooms, receiving merchandise, and efficiently fulfilling and shipping orders from the Campus eStore. Provide and foster a culture of excellent customer service to all customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Interact with customer’s in-person on the sales floor, during weekend and night shifts, special events, and team store operations and virtually for all ecommerce sales.
  • Unload shipments from trucks, inspect for damages and discrepancies. Notify vendors and Department Manager of issues discovered during the receiving process to ensure appropriate resolution.
  • Receive and distribute merchandise according to established procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Fulfill and ship online orders timely and accurately, maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct daily product replenishment on the sales floor to ensure consistent product availability.
  • Maintain organized and efficient stockrooms in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Conduct weekly inventory counts to ensure accurate stock levels, identify discrepancies, and report them to the Department Manager.
  • Uphold store merchandising standards to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales.
  • Support the execution of special events, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Protect RIT assets by adhering to all policies and procedures intended to prevent both internal and external shrinkage, including cash handling and store opening/closing procedures.
  • Assist with special projects as requested and perform all other duties as requested by management for the successful operation of the Campus Store.
  • Participate in a minimum of 30 hours of training/professional development annually (or a prorata amount based on standard working hours). Training must be applicable tothe employee’s role within the Controller’s Division with the intent of enhancing overall knowledge as well as the specific skills, whether functional or technical, required to perform successfully in the position.

Required Qualifications

Education/Experience:
AS in business administration or a related field required or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Skills:

  • Effective communication with the Campus Store team.
  • Attention to details, problem solving skills and accuracy.
  • Ability to interact with customers, in-person and virtually, to sell products and resolve issues while delivering exceptional service.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and in writing

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two years retail experience required with receiving, shipping and web fulfillment knowledge preferred.
  • Experience in the higher education industry, a Campus Store, and/or operations of an e-Store strongly preferred.

The RIT Campus Store is your destination for RIT branded spirit wear and gifts. It’s also the home of the Digital Den, RIT’s technology store that carries Apple computers, PC’s and peripherals. The Campus Store is located in Monroe Hall, across from Artesano’s.
