This position is hybrid and remote eligible for up to 40% of the time. The office location for this position is at ESL Corporate Headquarters in Rochester, NY. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet current and future business needs.

Purpose of Position:
The Systems Administrator position supports the Systems Engineers and Manager of Desktop Support to ensure that the performance and availability of the systems infrastructure is maintained to the highest standard with maximum levels of productivity and efficiency. Works with the Systems Engineers in the installation of new systems and the ongoing administration and support of those systems. Provides Tier 3 technical support as escalated by the Manager of Desktop Support. Escalates systems issues to Systems Engineers as appropriate and works with Systems Engineers to resolve. Provides quality systems consultation to business units and other Systems & Technology departments as directed.
Principle Accountabilities:
Work with the Systems Engineers in the planning, installation, maintenance, monitoring and upgrades of ESL’s systems infrastructure.
- Configure and assist with the installation and upgrade of ESL systems including but not limited to VMware, Nutanix, Citrix, Windows Servers, Linux Servers, etc.
- Ensure that hardware and software systems are properly maintained and monitored to achieve a minimum up-time of 99.5% or better.
- Providing day-to-day support in the monitoring and administration of ESL systems including but not limited to VMware, Citrix, Microsoft 365 Applications, Windows Servers, Linux Servers, etc.
- Work with the Systems Engineers in building, maintaining and documenting base server builds.
- Work with Information Security to assure that ESL’s systems are secure and meet all operational and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct testing of new/upgraded systems and/or software.
- Participate in local and corporate projects, and act as a Network Services consultant to those project teams.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues and address ESL business needs.
- Ensure that Network Services documentation is well-organized, up to date and maintained in a fashion that provides easy access and usability.
Work with the business units and Business Systems Analysts to ensure a stable, scalable, and secure End User Computing Environment
- Working with the Applications Support team and end users to engineer solutions to support our business application portfolio in a Citrix Environment.
- Ensure our Citrix environment is up to date with versions and support.
- Resolve any performance and stability issues in a timely fashion.
- Monitor the Citrix Environment to ensure proper performances levels are met.
- Continually improve the End User Experience within Citrix by leveraging our monitoring tools and new features and functionality that Citrix offers.
Assist the Manager of Desktop Support by providing backup, Tier 3 support and by acting as a liaison between Network Support and the Systems Engineers
- Work with Network Support Technicians on Tier 3 support issues and escalate and work with Systems Engineer on these issues as appropriate.
- Backup the Manager of Network Support in the coordination of Network Support workflow, escalation of support issues, procurement of equipment, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems/Computer Sciences or other related discipline, or 4 additional years of strong equivalent experience
- Strong planning, organizing, and coordination skills
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills required
- Work effectively with all levels of ESL organization
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Must be flexible with working hours that occasionally change on short notice to cover unexpected business needs. Must be available to respond to system issues on 24X7 basis
- Frequent standing, walking, use of telephone and computer, lifting up to 50 lbs
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience in systems administration preferred
- 3+ years’ professional experience with Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, Outlook).
