POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible to ensure the quality of products and services meets required standards (regulatory, customer, productivity, cost) by utilizing and applying quality systems and statistical problem-solving methods to improve products, processes, methods, and systems. This position serves as a global advocate to promote and communicate quality processes, systems and standards internally and externally (supply base to customer). Responsibility encompasses management of multiple quality systems; team participation on new product development, continuous improvement, and problem-solving teams; and supplier/customer interface.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Process Control Management: Develop, test, implement and monitor statistical process control tools; apply multi-step problem-solving methods and accurate data reporting; develop, train, and execute control plans, data collection methods, testing/gaging, and standard work; support or lead continuous improvement and change management projects related to process, supplier, and material changes. Requires close collaboration with manufacturing, process/project engineering, operational excellence, supply chain, enterprise QEHS functions, research & development, and IT
  • Supplier Quality Support: Participate with Quality Manager to develop, implement, monitor, and maintain and act on supplier quality management tools and evaluation systems (i.e., PPAP, receiving inspection, non-conforming material, corrective action)
  • Quality Systems Management: Create, manage, audit, report on, and revise quality management systems based on LiDestri needs, the ISO 9000 system, the ISO 22000 system, the SQF program, and other models
  • New Product Development: Lead, plan & manage product reliability and validation testing, participate/lead design & process failure modes, effects, and analysis as well as drawing reviews; develop and implement quality assurance plans from receiving inspection through final product audit; develop and implement supplier expectations and requirements; coordinate customer service requirements and implementation plans.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead, facilitate, and participate on continuous improvement and problem-solving teams. Lead and facilitate appropriate quality themed projects and corrective action items. Use proven statistical methods, problem solving techniques, and recognized testing methods to develop data, recommendations, and solutions in both a production and laboratory environment. Ensure accurate documentation of problems and solutions. Provide cross-functional team leadership to matrix teams.
  • Global Focus: Serve as key Quality interface with customers and suppliers regarding thorough customer complaint analysis, problem solving efforts, and corrective action implementation.


REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major field of study in engineering, statistics, or related technical field strongly desired
  • Minimum of 5 years in quality, product, or reliability engineering or related field
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical, electromechanical, and data acquisition gages/devices and related software applications/platforms
  • Advanced statistical skills and application of process capability principles; including analysis software tools
  • Strong problem-solving and team skills demonstrated on a variety of projects
  • Demonstrated experience in designed experimentation, testing protocol, failure analysis, root cause analysis and problem-solving methods based in six sigma and lean principles
  • Knowledge and application of the ISO 9000 series quality systems model.
  • Strong cross functional teambuilding and teamwork
  • Flexibility in hours and ability to travel required


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to:

  • Long periods of standing/moving, working around moving mechanical parts/conveyors
  • Loud environment, hot/cold, wet/dry conditions
  • Lifting/carrying <50 pounds
  • Frequent reaching/pulling/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling/bending
