This person will contribute to the company’s success by ensuring L3Harris product and system requirements are fully verified with user-oriented focus in valid over-the-air operational and mission scenarios, successfully exceeding the quality expectations of our current and future customers. This role will report directly to Rusty Knott and is responsible for successfully verifying requirements and validating operational and mission scenarios by executing field test exercises.
Essential Functions:
The role will have responsibilities consisting of (but not limited to):
- Testing of L3Harris products and systems in customer scenarios with an end-user focus.
- Contributing to test plans and procedures.
- Set up, configuration, and operation of sophisticated data and voice communication equipment.
- Generating trouble reports (TRs) to communicate issues found and characterize repeatability.
- Working with development engineers to suggest and support TR resolutions.
- Refining team procedures, practices, and collection and reporting of performance data to ensure continuous improvement in the execution of tests.
- May also include occasionally supporting new business pursuit activities including demos, proposals, generation of applications info (e.g. diagrams, write-ups, etc.), and/or occasional travel and/or customer interaction to support these activities.
Candidates should be aware that additional requirements associated with conducting on-air testing of tactical radios also may apply. These include working outside in virtually all weather conditions applicable to the Rochester, NY area and other physical requirements such as occasional lifting and installing of equipment and working in and around vehicles. Driving L3Harris vehicles is a requirement of the job.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Some familiarity with RF communications and propagation.
- Knowledge of / experience with networking including TCP/IP, LAN and WAN technologies.
- Positive attitude, openness to new ideas, willingness to learn new tools, and a strong motivation to positively impact the performance and work experience of the team.
- Strong documentation skills for test development, test enhancements, and status reporting.
- Strong adaptive learning skills, able to learn quickly, retain knowledge, and utilize resources to work productively and efficiently both independently and on a team on a wide range of tasks.
- Effective communications skills across a variety of employee levels.
- Ability to support multiple projects at one time.
- Prior military or professional communications experience including radio operation and/or repair/troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Tactical Communications technologies and applications.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington State and New York State is $51,000 - $94,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
