Are you a collaborative writer curious about cutting-edge communications technology and how it works? Seeking work experience where you’ll interact with engineers and technical experts to learn about advanced products and their operation? Do you possess a unique combination of detail-orientedness and dynamic flexibility?

The L3Harris Tactical Communications team would like you to intern with our Technical Publications group. Our technical writers plan, organize, write, and edit operations, maintenance, and software manuals and guides. This internship provides opportunities to gain experience writing, illustrating, and maintaining topic-based, modular content for re-use. We’re looking for someone with a passion for new technology, a knack for research and analysis, interest in project management, and the ability to develop relationships with subject-matter experts. Join our motivated, witty, and collaborative team and contribute to the development of documentation for L3Harris’ industry-leading communications equipment and software.

Essential Functions:

  • Partner with team members, internal customers, and subject matter experts to create engaging end-user content
  • Consult with team writers, editor and illustrator to understand processes involved in generating documentation and training content
  • Contribute ideas for new and inventive ways to promote customer support and engagement in L3Harris customer support products

Qualifications:

  • Seeking bachelor’s degree in Technical Communications, English, Engineering, or Computer Science or a related field

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Coursework in Technical Writing
  • Demonstrated aptitude for quickly learning new software
  • Military communications and/or HAM Radio experience
  • Experience with computer networking and/or electrical diagrams/schematics
  • Mechanical aptitude: experience with disassemble/assemble equipment and write install/remove/replace procedures

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $18.00 - $36.00 an hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including relocation stipend, 401(k), EAP, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
