PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsible for leading the Bank’s comprehensive Risk Management and Compliance program in accordance with the goals and objectives established by executive leadership and the Board of Directors. Leads and directs key risk management functions including Compliance, Fraud, Corporate Insurance, Physical Security, Business Continuity, and Vendor Management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manage the Bank’s Risk Management function as it relates to operational, compliance, vendor, fraud, and business continuity risk. Establish and maintain a compliant risk assessment system and risk management methodologies, tools and techniques. Ensures policies and procedures meet legal, regulatory and contractual requirements. Specific functions include:
- Fill the roles and responsibilities of the: Bank Security Officer, Business Continuity Officer and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) Officer.
- Chair the Bank’s internal management committee that oversees risk and compliance matters. Coordinate meetings for the GRB Board Risk Committee. Report to the Board of Directors as necessary.
- Partner and collaborate with the bank’s CISO and CTO to ensure regulatory requirements are consistently met.
- Ensure all areas of responsibility align with state and federal regulations as well as industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain policy management and risk assessment processes for the Bank.
- Develop and maintain the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management program.
- Develop and manage the Bank’s Vendor Management Program. Directly manage relationships with risk management related vendors.
- Develop and maintain the Bank’s Business Continuity Management and related plans. Conduct regular and ongoing review and testing of the plan. Work with Bank leadership and key business partners to ensure an effective plan is in place. Support the Bank through responses to BCP events.
- Develop and oversee the administration of the Bank’s physical security controls including access controls and alarm systems at all locations. Participate in local/regional industry/security associations and meetings.
- Develop and oversee the Bank’s response to fraud and crime events. Coordinate the remediation and reporting of such events.
- Coordinate corporate insurance policies and claims for the Bank.
- Act as primary risk management contact during the exam process.
- Ensure written procedures are in place for key department functions.
- Foster a continuous improvement environment within the team. Enhance practices through technology where practical.
- Provide leadership and direction to direct reports. Monitor and evaluate team performance, holding employees accountable for goals and objectives. Development of staff through coaching and performance management process.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a Business-related field plus a minimum of 8 years related professional experience, preferably in the Risk Audit, Banking or Finance industry including a minimum of 3 years of supervisory/leadership experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
