Full-time/Part-time: Full-time (Sunday – Thursday 8:30 am – 5 pm)

Pay Rate: $16.00/hour

I. SUMMARY
Responsible for the daily cleaning of all public and staff areas, special event areas, including trash removal and

periodic moving of furniture and other items. Assists with event set up and take down, furniture and office
moves and occasionally moving exhibit pieces.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works with cleaning chemicals, mechanical

equipment such as vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors and sometimes high-powered ?oor buffing machines.

Additional seasonal work may include snow shoveling at building entrances.

One Weekend day and Mondays required. Work schedule may include ?exible hours, weekends, weekdays,

evenings, holidays and extended hours in order to meet the needs of the organization. Management retains the
right to alter work schedules accordingly.

III. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Daily cleaning of all public and staff areas: including but not limited to: dusting, vacuuming, sweeping,

mopping, glass cleaning, trash removal
? Event set ups and takedowns
? Moving exhibit pieces as assigned
? Other duties as assigned.

? Ability to operate, care for and maintain cleaning equipment.

? Ability to communicate effectively, politely, professionally, and comfortably with all guests and staff.
? Ability to read and comprehend written instruction, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions

and procedure manuals.
Decision Making and Reasoning Ability:
? Must be dependable, organized, and able to adapt to changing demands and environments.
? Be able to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions delivered in written or verbal

form.

? Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot.

Time Management:
? Ability to meet established deadlines.
? Ability to effectively transition between multiple duties.
? Ability to take initiative and identify projects in need of completion.

V. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; stand; bend; climb; to use
hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; and crouch. The
employee is regularly required to move throughout the building; ascend and descend stairs. The employee
must occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds. Speci?c vision abilities required include close vision, depth
perception and ability to adjust focus.

VI. WORK ENVIRONMENT
During high visitation periods, the noise level in public areas can be loud due to large numbers of people and
related activities. There may be occasional exposure to bodily ?uids during the cleaning and removal process.

VII. QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience/Requirements:
? High school diploma (or equivalent education or combination of experience and education) preferred.
? One year of experience is preferred.
