POSITION SUMMARY:
Releases, plans, and monitors material requirements to ensure alignment of approved materials with scheduled productions. Works interdepartmentally to request material expiration extensions. Advises management and key stakeholders of the status of material availability, and potential shortages to ensure a smooth, efficient production schedule can be maintained.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Collaborate with other Schedulers / Planners on team to ensure all parties are aligned as it pertains to production timing and availability of materials.
- On a daily basis, review planning system in Oracle and other planning tools, to ensure material deliveries and inventory levels align with production schedule to satisfy customer demands.
- Issue purchase orders (Oracle) to suppliers, validate essential data on confirmation against initial order and resolve discrepancies if required.
- Review system generated exceptions and request order revisions to support changing production requirements.
- If needed, communicate material shortages timely to ensure the production schedule is aligned with available materials.
- Identify and communicate critical issues, gaps and constraints to management for resolution purposes.
- Work with Quality and/or Customer Success team to request and monitor material expiration extensions to reduce disposal and spoilage risks.
- Provide feedback to Procurement on material attribute updates and need for escalation to prevent production shortages, as well as supplier performance and/or non-compliance.
- Review item attributes in Oracle (i.e. FLM, MOQ, SS, etc..) to ensure future material planning of components aligns smoothly with production demands.
- Monitor component levels at each applicable production facility to ensure excess, slow moving and/or obsolete inventories are minimized accordingly.
- Collaborate with the Customer Success team to ensure material transitions, subs and obsolescence align with demands, while also reducing leftover inventory risks.
- If required, ensure material deliveries from outside, cold storage or other LiDestri organizations are aligned with timing of production schedule.
- Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 3+ years’ experience in supply chain/production scheduling/material planning; food/beverage manufacturing environment preferred
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment
- Strong root cause and problem-solving capability
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Must have a good understanding and experience pertaining to material planning, production scheduling and supply chain functions.
- Planning system knowledge is a plus. Oracle preferred.
- Good communication skills are required.
- Ability to work in a team environment, communicating effectively both internally and externally.
- Analytical skills to work with numbers, dates, and calculations in detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Sense of urgency to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks to support the customer and business needs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Regularly required to sit, use hands;
- Occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, with a potential of up to 25 pounds;
- Sedentary office environment;
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, bump cap, skid-resistant leather shoes, etc.);
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practice (hair net, no jewelry, no fake nails or eyelashes, no food/drink, gum, etc. in manufacturing Plant).
