Summary: Completes the production of the machine by assembling components and sub-assemblies.

- Assembles sub-components of machines.
- Completes sub-assemblies on machines
- Inspects, cleans, and assembles parts and equipment to ensure customers’ specifications are met.
- Uses crane and various hand and power tools.
- Identifies and resolves issues regarding the assembly of the machine.
- Disassembles machine, when necessary, to repair machine.
- Trains other employees, as required.
- Communicates with Engineering and other groups to resolve issues.
- Works independently on multiple machine models.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:Ability to define and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagrams, and schematics required.
Computer Skills: Basic PC skills are required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Eligibility of Gleason truck license and crane operation is required.
Team Skills: Individual must be able to work productively within a team environment.
Safety Requirements: Individual must comply with all safety standards set forth by The Gleason Works.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 40 pounds with lift assistance only. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
