Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the design, procurement, and delivery of equipment to build a High-Energy Long-Pulse (HE-LP) laser system at the Matter in Extreme Conditions Upgrade project for SLAC at Stanford University.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a cross-disciplinary team through the final design and delivery of the HE-LP laser
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure the project remains cost-effective.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to keep the project on track.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders to manage expectations and address any project changes.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on budget, schedule, and earned value metrics, ensuring transparency and accountability for all aspects of the project.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in technical or scientific project management
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Proven experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects in a technical or R&D environment.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, etc.).
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
