POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist and support the assigned functions of the warehouse department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Remove bands and tops from bulk totes (or other vessel);
- Breakdown bulk totes;
- Ensure pallet of broken down totes is properly prepared to be returned to vendor;
- Place scrap in proper receptacles and dispose as needed;
- Stack and wrap all totes by vendor to be loaded on return rail car;
- Ensure safe use of the Lift Assist;
- Inspect all raw materials stored in the Warehouse every 30 days;
- Ensure that all materials are stored correctly and are free of debris or contamination;
- Document all findings and alert appropriate personnel (shift, dept. or QA manager) of any deficiencies;
- Assist in all other Warehouse responsibilities or special projects when needed;
- Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action;
- Backup UPS Clerk when needed
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net (if applicable), Kevlar gloves, safety glasses and leather skid resistant work shoes/boots);
- Ability to apply basic computer and communication skills, math functions, and reasoning;
- Ability to use various equipment (knife, band cutters, vacuum lift).
- Forklift Experience
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to:
- Long periods of standing/moving, working around moving mechanical parts/conveyors
- Loud environment, hot/cold, wet/dry conditions
- Lifting/carrying <50 pounds
- Frequent reaching/pulling/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling/bending
