Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Oversees the operations of the technical/construction services division of the Department of Transportation & Parking Management. Manages systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed. Assesses departmental assets to assess maintenance and repair plans. Develops and assigns maintenance procedures and programs. Oversees and schedules staff schedules and work assignments.

- Supervises, assigns tasks, and directs Electronic Technicians to prioritize work and oversee its completion; Interview and hire for vacant positions; process employee payroll and maintain all relevant records per University policy. Review operational data and recommend potential solutions, improvements, and efficiencies. Provide annual Performance Evaluations; administer progressive discipline up to and including termination; and maintain all relevant records.
- Participates in meetings; keeps abreast of industry trends, including best practices and technology advances. Problem-solve and answer staff questions; determine and implement appropriate actions when necessary; investigate errors and recommend solutions. Manages safety/preventive maintenance inspections on medium complexity electronic parking access and revenue-generating equipment to determine operational status and compliance with manufacturers and industry technical standards and specifications. Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of medium complexity electronic equipment to support the parking operation, including but not limited to parking gates, parking access control, CCTV cameras, network intercom devices, network switches, complex two-way radio systems, etc. Manages general facility repairs to parking structures, surface lots, and roadways, including but not limited to sign installation& repair, asphalt repair, line striping, and parking structure repairs. Inspecting and oversite of parking structures and parking lots for safety, cleanliness, signage, and any potential deficiencies.
- Works in coordination with Associate Project Manager during project conception. Determines the scope of work and prepares rough order of magnitude cost estimates. Assures early identification of design conditions likely to have negative impacts on progress. Ensures timely completion and quality work on behalf of the University.
- Determines and initiates purchase requisitions for product/material/spares required. Purchases materials and services, exercising independent judgment within authorization limits. Issue work orders, status reports, and maintenance schedules utilizing University facilities maintenance software and the preventive maintenance database. Studies system performance and life span to produce component replacement proposals to reduce equipment failures.
- Acts in the capacity of Associate Project Manager during their absences

qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Project Management or Coordination experience required.
- At least five years of maintenance experience required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed required.
- Ability to plan maintenance schedules required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software required.
