Function of Position:
The Development Coordinator and Scholarship Liaison is an innovative position responsible for executing fundraising activities that support the MCC Foundation's revenue goals while also facilitating the engagement of scholarship recipients. This position will also support the Foundation's marketing and communications initiatives and other strategies to build and maintain relationships with alumni, benefactors, and prospects by facilitating the Foundation's communication with scholarship recipients, monitoring their progress, and connecting students to campus resources that support their success. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator and Scholarship Liaison is part of a dynamic team that works to enhance private philanthropic support for Monroe Community College.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
Primary Functions:
Development Functions - Provide primary oversight for and execution of the MCC Foundation's annual 5K Run/Walk for Scholarships, Class Gift Dedication Booklet, crowd fundraising, and other projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with campus stakeholders to recruit and engage members of the 5K committee and to encourage student participation in the 5K, Class Gift Dedication Booklet, and crowd fundraising.
- Assist in generation of regular donor updates and progress reports and meet with donors with the Development team when requested.
- Work with the development and advancement services teams to generate scholarship recipient profiles and produce student stories, secure students to speak at donor events, and facilitate the creation of thank you notes and videos.
- Maintain MCC Foundation's social media accounts; collaborate with Foundation staff to create relevant content.
- Participate as a full member of the Foundation's advancement team including attending professional development activities and staff meetings.
Scholarship Liaison Functions - Serve as the main point of contact between the MCC Foundation, scholarship recipients, and campus resources and services.
- Work individually with designated cohorts of students to facilitate student success, retention and campus integration.
- Maintain a regular schedule of communication with scholarship recipients to ensure they are accessing the supports they need to be successful, document interactions with scholarship recipients, and monitor and record their progress.
- Meet with students as needed to support their progress and provide direction when appropriate.
- Work closely with MCC advisement professionals to ensure proper engagement of scholarship recipients.
- Assist in the coordination of on and off campus engagement opportunities including, but not limited to, scholarship receptions, awards ceremonies, donor visits, and MCC Foundation board meetings and special events.
- Coordinate internship and mentoring opportunities when appropriate.
Secondary Functions:
Supervise student volunteers at MCC Foundation events and in the office.Work with the development team to prepare reports and proposals related to scholarships.Work with development team to develop and recommend policies, procedures and standards to enhance student engagement with the Foundation.Perform all other duties as assigned.*This is a temporary, grant funded position that may be renewed annually contingent upon availability of grant funding and performance reviews. This position is eligible for paid time off and benefits.

Required Qualifications:
Earned associate's degree from an accredited institution in a related field.Experience in non-profit fundraising, donor relations, customer service and/or special events.Strong organizational skills with the ability to create efficient systems.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Superior computer skills, including high proficiency in: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; expected to learn and use the student early alert system (Starfish) and the database and reporting software program for development (Raisers Edge).Detail-oriented, energetic self-starter with a positive and enthusiastic outlook.Vision to plan ahead, take initiative and set and adhere to deadlines.Ability to multi-task and to work collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work with a diverse audience of students, alumni, and donors.Consistently demonstrates the ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.Excellent customer service. This position is highly mobile within the Rochester region and requires reliable personal transportation.Preferred Qualifications:

Additional Information:
Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity and college budget. This position has a range of $52,000 to $60,000 and is based on these mentioned factors.
Location: The MCC Foundation is located at 321 State Street, Rochester, New York.
Schedule: This position functions primarily during normal business hours, with occasional evening and weekend activities.

Provides Supervision For: Student aides and volunteers as assigned
