St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students each year. Job Responsibilities
The Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmacology or related discipline) provides academic instruction to pharmacy students in the PharmD program (both the campus and online pathways) in a team-based learning format. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, participation in scholarship and research, participation in assigned school or university committees, service as a faculty advisor to pharmacy student. Core responsibilities of this position include: Collaboratively develop and enhance pharmaceutical sciences education in the PharmD program. Create and deliver course material and/or coordinate team-instructed courses in the campus and online pathways. Provide didactic instruction within assigned courses following course syllabi. Contribute to student orientation and immersion components of online pathway instruction. Engage in other innovative teaching methods with an emphasis on interdisciplinary education that includes lectures, asynchronous content delivery, demonstrations, and student engagement activities. Develop an elective course that can be offered at least once per academic year. Work collaboratively and productively with colleagues in co-instructed courses and scholarly endeavors. Participate in the scholarship of discovery, application, integration, or teaching, in areas appropriate to the faculty member’s areas of interest, which advances the mission of the school. Contribute and participate in service in the department, school, university, and the discipline/profession. Mentor students in their academic and professional development including co-curricular activities. Participate in the assessment of student learning course outcomes, program learning outcomes, global learning outcomes, and co-curricular learning outcomes. Participate in the interviewing of student and faculty applicants.
Education / Experience
Qualified applicants will hold a PhD. in Pharmacology, or a related discipline. Previous academic experience is highly desirable, especially in a professional pharmacy program. Successful candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong desire to contribute to the growth and development of the school in an innovative, thoughtful, and enthusiastic manner.

Residency Requirement: The candidate is expected to reside in the Rochester, NY, area or relocate within a reasonable timeframe to fully engage in campus activities, teaching, and collaborative initiatives. Flexible Schedule: Availability to teach during regular hours, with occasional evenings or weekends required for program needs, including student events, orientation, and immersion experiences.
