What does a Corporate Events Coordinator at CNB do?
Under the leadership of the Corporate Events Manager, supports events and programs which further the mission of Canandaigua National Corporation (CNC). Works closely with a variety of people in a fast paced, team-orientated, highly visible environment. Coordinates all aspects of event planning for a wide variety of events hosted by CNC and its affiliates. Consistently works to present and maintain a positive image of the organization and its constituents to all stakeholders throughout the event planning process.
What is needed to be successful in this role?
- A B.S. or B.A. degree in Hospitality, Communications, Marketing, or Business-related field normally required; specialized corporate communications education/training.
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience in related positions normally required.
- Knowledge of the bank’s products and services is desired.
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with a PC and associated programs (such as Microsoft Office)
- Proficiency in implementing event planning strategies
- Familiarity with audio/visual equipment and presentation programs such as PowerPoint.
- Requires schedule flexibly, as this position requires occasional mornings, evenings and weekends.
What does a successful first year in this position look like?
- Assists with all aspects of events, including, but not limited to scheduling planning meetings, reserving rooms, securing vendors, placing IT and Facilities requests, requesting lists, invites and materials, recording expenses, submitting invoices, set up/take down, staff check in table, etc.
- Events include, but are not limited to: Optimum Picnic, Annual Shareholder Meeting, Advisory Board Annual Meeting, Employee Holiday Party, Children’s Holiday Movie Party, Employee Celebration, Service Awards, Retiree Luncheon, Breakfast with the President, Retirement Parties, Center of Influence (COI) Events, Department Teambuilding outings, etc.
- Develops, communicates, and implements a timeline for each event, often working with internal and external resources, vendors, etc. Ensures timeline is communicated with all involved and is met.
- Ensures time and cost-efficient processes are utilized throughout the event life cycle.
- Works closely with the Corporate Events Manager to develop and maintain an on-going events calendar that outlines any recurring or newly requested events for all lines of business. Processes Event Request Forms.
- Attends and oversees event happenings and acts quickly to resolve problems. Triages competing demands by analyzing, prioritizing, and responding to issues as appropriate.
- Represents CNC at numerous functions.
- Manages relationships with vendors and various venues.
- Requires schedule flexibly, as this position may require occasional mornings, evenings and weekends.
- In collaboration with the Corporate Events Manager, helps to gather and analyze event and program feedback, to measure and evaluate event success.
- Assists with coordination work within the event planning team and engages with team members within other departments as needed.
- Responds to inquiries or requests for information, maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.

Compensation range- $24 - $28.85/hr.
The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
