Responsibilities:
Serves in strategic role to provide leadership for, coordination of and/or assistance with various advising initiatives and programs in line with Greene Center strategic plan. Creates, coordinates and delivers - through collaboration with Greene Center team and campus partners - programming and initiatives designed on the developmental needs of students. Establishes relationships with student leaders, encouraging engagement with Greene Center. Leads trainings of Greene Center staff on initiatives and tools for student engagement. Supervises full-time advisors and graduate student staff.Responsibilities
GENERAL PURPOSE:
This position supports the mission of the Benet Career Management Center through the creation and delivery of innovative, cutting-edge career education and professional development programming. In concert with members of the career education and professional development team, this position provides services to 200 full-time MBA candidates, 450 full-time MS candidates, and more than 50 part- time/EMBA students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create innovative career education and professional development programming for graduate students enrolled at the Simon Business School (40%)
Develop strategic plan for the creation of an innovative career education and professional development program that uses `Design Thinking+ and technology
Develop an assurance of learning grid that measures student engagement, student learning, and student skill development associated with career education and professional development
Produce with team members a career model that has learning objectives and measures
Produce an on-line learning model using advanced technology for implementation, and can be easily accessed by stakeholders
Produce career guides that speak specifically to the unique needs of a graduate business student audience
Create career pods with alumni and corporate partners that enhance learning opportunities for students
Coach graduate students in small group settings or individual appointments on career path positioning, career search preparation, internship and full-time job search, and negotiation strategies (30%)
Provide guidance to international and domestic candidates about their positioning in the market depending on background interest
Advise on skill building and professional preparation needed to be prepared for a competitive job search
Motivate student through the search phases, including preparation for interviews with top MBA hirers
Consult and coach candidates on employment offers, but full-time and internship
Work with external resources to improve the preparation of MBA and MS students
Partner with MBA and MS directors to support the mission of the Benet Career Management Center (20%)
Develop and produce programming that advances the goals of the MBA and MS directors, which includes specialized small group sessions
Produce and deliver recommendations that increase the efficacy of the work completed by the MBA and MS directors
Office Management/Other (10%)
Represent the Benet CMC in meetings with Admissions and Office of Student Engagement
Engage with professional clubs in association with primary duties
Represent that Benet CMC in meetings with members of the University campus community
Support the creation and implementation of process improvements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor+s degree and 5 years of relevant experience required. Master+s degree preferred.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
A proven track record of delivering career education and professional development programming, with strong recommendations from stakeholders.
Experience working with a diverse group of students, including international students.
An ability to work with diverse sets of technology, including Symplicity, Handshake, Blackboard, Interview Stream, VMock, SalesForce.
An understanding of the work demands within an accredited nationally ranked graduate school program, including working nights and weekends to meet objectives.
