Job Summary:
SUNY Brockport is currently accepting applications for a Career Coach. The person in this role will advance the mission of SUNY Brockport by developing, engaging, and building relationships with students, campus partners, and industry professionals who are aligned with the University’s strategic objectives, programs and initiatives. The Career Coach will serve an essential role in supporting students in connecting to resources, experiences, and opportunities which will enhance their Brockport education and prepare them for meaningful careers. In addition to individual career advisement, they will also collaborate with campus partners to facilitate career readiness initiatives across campus, and with community partners to build and support off-campus opportunities. We are currently hiring two career coaches to work with Nursing and STEM majors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university (or equivalent) in an appropriate field by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
- Expertise or a background in one or more of the following is required: (a) career development (b) student advisement/coaching (c) marketing/communications and/or (d) data analysis. Please speak to your qualifications for any of the above focus areas in your application.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct professional experience in nursing or a STEM field.
OR - Master’s degree in higher education administration, or similar field, from a regionally accredited college or university (or equivalent).
- Experience with First Destination Surveys and/or data collection and analysis or experiencing in marketing/social media.
- Familiarity with Handshake platform and/or related career development software.
- Training and/or certification in student coaching/advising, career readiness competencies and student development models.
- Strong project management and follow-up skills.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm
Salary and Benefits:
The minimum salary for this position is $55,151.
