Summary:

The International Trade Compliance Analyst ensures the organization adheres to all U.S. and international trade laws, regulations, and policies. This role involves evaluating, interpreting, and implementing complex trade regulations to safeguard the company's operations while minimizing risks and ensuring smooth cross-border transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with U.S. export control regulations (ITAR, EAR), import regulations (CBP, Harmonized Tariff Schedule), OFAC sanctions, and other international trade laws.

Classifications and Licensing: Analyze and assign product classifications for export and import compliance, including ECCN (Export Control Classification Number), HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule), and NAFTA rules of origin.

Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate compliance documentation, including import/export filings, export license applications, and reports to regulatory agencies.

Risk Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments to identify compliance vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions. Monitor transactions for red flags, including screening against restricted party lists.

Training & Education: Develop and deliver training sessions to employees on trade compliance policies, procedures, and changes in regulations.

Internal Audits: Participate in or conduct internal audits to ensure that the company is operating in compliance with relevant regulations. Assist in external audits by government agencies or clients.

Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance trade compliance processes and systems to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Supplier & Vendor Management: Work closely with suppliers and third-party vendors and subsidiaries to ensure compliance with export control regulations and corporate policies.

Regulatory Research: Keep up-to-date with changes in international trade regulations and policies, advising stakeholders on regulatory impacts and best practices.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Experience working in a shipping, warehouse and/or production environment.
  • Accurate data entry skills with basic understanding of SAP or other business system.
  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-5 years of experience in international trade compliance, export control, or import/export operations.
  • Knowledge of U.S. export control regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFAC), import compliance, and Customs regulations (CBP).
  • Familiarity with trade compliance software, databases, and systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Education/Training/Experience:

  • Certification in International Trade (e.g., Certified Export Specialist (CES), Certified Customs Specialist (CCS)).
  • Experience with international trade agreements (e.g., USMCA, WTO, Free Trade Agreements).
  • Experience with audit preparation and regulatory reporting.

  • Familiarity with inventory control systems, ERP systems (SAP preferred)

Travel Requirements:

  • Limited travel required

Scheduling:

Ability to work weekends and overtime as required
