Job Summary:

SUNY Brockport is currently accepting applications for a Financial Aid Loan Coordinator. The primary role of the Financial Aid Loan Coordinator is to work with the Senior Financial Aid Advisor to assist and ensure compliance in all areas involving student loan programs. This includes, but is not limited to, coordinating the financial aid purge process (exit counseling), performing default management and prevention activities and promoting financial literacy endeavors. This employee will also serve as the coordinator of the alternative loan programs. Some other key tasks will include assisting students and families in tasks related to the loan programs; i.e. completion of promissory notes and entrance counseling, process loan adjustments in the Student Information System. The person in this role will ensure that all necessary steps are taken and proper aid adjustments are made whenever a student separates from the institution in accordance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines. Part of this role also includes educating students on financial literacy and collaborate with various departments to implement and facilitate these endeavors.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working in financial aid or a related field.
  • Experience working in a customer service environment.
  • Demonstrated high-level experience with software/database and computerized financial systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, public, college community and external constituencies, with an appreciation for cultural and group differences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Experience working with document imaging systems.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm

Salary and Benefits:

The minimum salary for this position is $55,151.
