Purpose: The Training Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, and delivering training curriculum, courses, and materials for employees, including Retail Banking. This position also delivers new hire orientation, systems training sessions, leadership development training, and assists with managing online compliance and skills training for all employees.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for delivering training to employees as assigned at training facility or other locations as needed.
  • Collaborates with Retail Banking business partners to identify business needs and to develop curriculum, materials, and job aids. Includes interviewing, consulting, and project team participation at the Retail Banking level of the organization.
  • Consistently reviews retail training material to make revisions and updates based on organizational changes, technology and systems, and procedure and policy changes.
  • Evaluates Retail Banking employees as required based on course needs, identifying areas of opportunity for improvement, and distributing reports to appropriate Manager. Provides guidance and ongoing coaching to Managers in support of employees post training.
  • Maintains training attendance records, training calendars, training intranet information and coordinates all resources. Assists with assigning, managing, and tracking online compliance and skills training courses.
  • Facilitates new hire orientation sessions and delivers new hire systems training.
  • Remains current on updated company products/services, policies/procedures and skill sets required for successful performance in positions to improve training methods and techniques.
  • Demonstrates the standards and principles of the Five Star Bank experience in every interaction with internal and external customers and associates. Incorporates the high-performance behaviors of teamwork, leading by example and service in every facet of work.
  • Lead workstreams under the project to implement a Learning Management System (LMS) and maintains administrative responsibility over the system, including but not limited to maintaining functionality, identifying enhancements, and overseeing upgrades.

Job Related Qualifications – Education and Prior Experience:

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Training/Education, Business, or related field
  • Prior Experience: 1+ years of training or retail banking experience

  • Education: Associate Degree in Training/Education, Business, or related field
  • Prior Experience: 3+ years of training or retail banking experience

-OR-

Required:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior Experience: 5+ years of training or retail banking experience

Competencies:

  • Ability to work with, communicate and provide training to all levels of employees and management with diverse skill sets on both an individual basis and in a classroom environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to present information in a meaningful and easily understood form
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver professional presentations and course curriculum
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate a training calendar and change focus quickly based on organizational need.
  • Proficient level with Microsoft Office applications including the ability to learn and utilize new and existing banking software applications

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional travel within the corporate footprint
  • Able to regularly sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Extensive computer usage is required

The expected rate of pay for this position is shown above. Compensation offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education and, where applicable, licenses or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
