Job Summary
We are looking for an Applications Administrator II to develop solutions that improve the experience of RIT students and the divisions that support them. Slate is a growing technology at RIT and you will be part of a growing cross-functional team delivering student centered solutions. You will be working with key business and ITS leaders across RIT. The work that you do will directly affect the success of our students.
Job Responsibilities
- As a Slate Application Administrator II, you will primarily support the implementation of the Technolutions Slate product at RIT, focusing on student-centered initiatives. Your responsibilities will include developing solutions and integrations within the Slate product and other enterprise technologies at RIT. The scope and impact of your work will often extend to various units, teams, specializations, and departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementation and Support: Implement and support the Technolutions Slate product, developing solutions and integrations within Slate and other enterprise technologies.
- Innovation and Problem-Solving: Work with limited oversight, developing innovative approaches, methods, or techniques to solve complex problems.
- Expert Analysis: Apply expert analysis techniques within your area of specialization to make informed decisions. Address unclear and increasingly difficult problems that require a broad understanding of multiple issues, areas, departments, or specialties. Issues are strategic in nature and involve significant evaluation and interpretation.
- Application Management: Understand the core functionality of assigned applications and assist key business contacts in leveraging this technology to meet university needs.
- Project Management: Manage concurrent department projects of varying sizes and processes. Confer with leads or managers regularly.
- Guidance and Training: Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees. Work towards developing expertise in at least one technology, product, program, or process area.
- Information Security: Follow information security best practices, university policies, and standards to protect the university’s information assets along with adhering to architectural and operational standards.
- System Maintenance: Perform system maintenance, break/fix tasks, enhancements, integrations, and new deployments of the Slate product and other applications as prioritized.
- Collaboration and Communication: The scope and impact of your work will often extend to other units, teams, specializations, and departments. Ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, collaborate, document processes, and lead department projects.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years experience with Technolutions Slate
- 2-4 years of experience of progressive and hands-on experience in structured system analysis, design, development, integration, and implementation including the utilization of formal SDLC or agile methodologies
- 2-3 years of experience with participating in external vendor relationships, primarily related to the support and maintenance of business applications
- 1-2 years of experience in the design of technical architecture to support business applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical experience with a Student Information System such as PeopleSoft Campus Solutions
- Experience programming in one or more; Informatica PowerCenter, PL/SQL, relational databases such as Oracle 19c, Unix or Linux Operating Systems, Azure, Power BI, third-party applications that support custom forms and workflow solutions
- Experience in understanding functional specifications and the ability to gather and understand user requirements and translate into design
- Familiarity with configuration maintenance
- Ability to manage multiple work efforts simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and make effective decisions
- Ability to partner with campus partners to create and maintain requirements
- Experience working with global teams
- Experience and understanding of the higher education environment
