POSITION SUMMARY:

Manage all aspects of product preparation and oversee and monitor the performance of production as it relates to quality, safety, productivity, waste control, and scheduling.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and complete work orders as determined by production schedule;
  • Manage assigned production lines;
  • Cross functional interaction to resolve technical problems, scheduling conflicts, equipment issues, etc.;
  • Manage staff of hourly employees to include:
    1. scheduling personnel to meet production requirements;
    2. taking disciplinary action per company policy;
    3. drafting and delivering performance evaluations;
    4. training and development, timecard management, handling employee relations issues;
  • Enforces safety and housekeeping rules and policies in areas of personnel and security;
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff, including preparing and conducting employee performance appraisal;
  • Maintain employee work schedules including timecard approval, work assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off;
  • Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action;

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • AS Degree with job experience is preferred;
  • Ability to work with numbers, perform calculations, mechanically inclined;
  • Good communication, verbal and written skills;
  • Good leadership skills to influence and motivate associates;
  • 5 plus years of production experience in high-speed canning/bottling operation;
  • Some supervisory experience preferred;
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite;
  • Experience with ERP systems (i.e. Oracle, SAP, etc.);
  • Proven leadership in aspects of the safety program;
  • Multi-disciplinary understanding of the plant operations


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to:

  • Long periods of standing/moving, working around moving mechanical parts/conveyors
  • Loud environment, hot/cold, wet/dry conditions
  • Lifting/carrying <50 pounds
  • Frequent reaching/pulling/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling/bending
