This is a position assigned to the Office of Special Projects & Educational Initiatives located in the Mayor's Office and is responsible for supporting special projects and programs being overseen by the Office. Performs related work as required.
CITY RESIDENCY WILL BE REQUIRED WITHIN ONE YEAR OF HIRE.
- Plans or assists in planning new programs and facilitates program implementation;
- Participates in a variety of committee meetings and then prepares a written record of the meetings;
- Coordinates interdepartmental projects and processes, such as the preparation of legislative items for submission to City Council, the preparation of grant requests, and periodic reporting requirements;
- Evaluates existing operations, and makes recommendations for program improvements; Monitors Professional Agreements for compliance with specified terms; Monitors performance indicators for achievement of budget goals;
- Communicates with the public and agencies outside of City government, to respond to questions;
- Communicates with internal government units regarding City programs and to express any specific concerns of top officials; Give oral reports regarding assigned programs and projects;
- Conducts research and compiles information on a variety of topics;
- Prepares written reports regarding assigned program and project activities.
- Maintain and manages the contact list for all Special Projects on a continuous basis;
- Schedules internal/external meetings, answer phones, mail, accept invites and RSVP to events, book city council chambers/atrium as needed;
- Maintains website content, maintenance, and contact for all inquiries of the Office of Special Projects programs.
High school Diploma or Equivalent AND;
A. Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of experience overseeing programs or projects;
OR
B. Three (3) years of experience overseeing programs or projects.
