PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Retail Branch Supervisor will assist with the day-to-day operations of a retail banking office; promote excellent client services, support proper staffing levels, assist in safeguarding that branch procedures are being accurately followed, and generate retail/small business sales and referrals. The Retail Branch Supervisor will be expected to lead by example; focusing on customer needs analysis and the cultivation of profitable relationships through the proactive sale of banking services.
In the absence of, or assisting the Branch Manager; responsible for the overall branch management including but not limited to operations, sales management and productivity. This position will require travel to other locations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Primary back-up of Universal Banker, Banking Specialist, Relationship Banker and Branch Management during lunch hour, breaks, vacations, etc.
- Consistently exceed customer expectations by providing top notch customer service:
- Demonstrate a professional, helpful and friendly manner in welcoming guests and directing them appropriately. Greet clients with warmth, genuine interest and a smile.
- Provide exceptional customer service in answering general phone lines for the Bank.
- Process client banking transactions; maintain a high degree of accuracy and ensure compliance in processing teller transactions, opening and closing accounts and other banking operations as necessary.
- Contribute to client satisfaction by meeting sales and service expectations, resolving problems, and developing ideas to improve overall branch performance.
- Assist in developing initiatives for branch staff to generate sales from new customers as well as cross-selling to existing customers.
- Utilize a needs-based sales approach to understand clients’ needs and offer customized solutions.
- Develop new loans and core deposits from client/prospect base. Products to include: DDA, Savings, CDs, HELOCs, and other consumer and small balance commercial loans.
- Prospect and identify opportunities to refer to internal partners (Affinity Banking, Commercial, Cash Management and Residential Mortgage).
- Work with Credit Analysts to prepare loan approval packages as needed.
- Utilize nCino to memorialize all calling efforts and sales results.
- Obtain a working knowledge of bank products, services, policies and procedures.
- Make recommendations to improve operational efficiencies and controls.
- Active participation in demonstrating the behaviors outlined in the GRB Experience.
- Assist to maintain and ensure that all banking and regulatory policies and procedures are adhered to and are up to date.
- Perform branch administrative duties and other duties as assigned.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for Canadian tracking for the region.
- Responsible for execution of Executive Onboarding letters.
- Responsible for BCP oversite for Retail
- Responsible for managing ‘Expiring W8 Bens’- for Non-Resident Aliens for the bank (1x a year-November)
- Dormant Escheat and Pre-dormant customer outreach for the region
- Assist Area Manager with;
- Validation of Personal Banker’s quarterly sales results
- Competitor rate tracking -Backup
- Updating retail related procedures
- Doc Tracking
- Assist with consistent, proactive and timely outreach in relation to the success of the Mortgage Rewards Program
- Daily management of manual Mortgage Reward system tracking
- Assist Area Manager and Retail Banking Manager with assigned tasks as necessary.
- Each GRB location has additional responsibilities and specific duties unique to that particular office. Other tasks will be assigned accordingly, and as the manager sees fit, to assist with fulfillment of those needs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business related discipline or commensurate experience.
- 5+ years’ sales and/or relationship management experience, preferably in Retail/Commercial Banking and/or outside professional sales required.
- Expertise in needs-based, consultative selling.
- Proficient understanding of credit review process including basic knowledge of financial statements and tax returns.
- Must have or be able to obtain a National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) number and remain active with the S.A.F.E Act registration throughout the duration of employment (with GRB assistance).
