Responsibilities:
The University of Rochester has multiple openings for Residential Dining Supervisors for our student dining halls. As a Residential Dining Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of residential dining services, ensuring a high standard of food service and hospitality for our students. This role is vital in ensuring exceptional customer service and high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and quality.Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of a residential dining facility, ensuring efficient service and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
- Supervise, train, and evaluate staff; manage scheduling, hiring, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
- Support inventory management, product ordering, and restocking to ensure consistent menu execution
- Assist with financial tasks, including point-of-sale reconciliation, record keeping, and budget planning input
- Collaborate with leadership to implement menu updates, special events, and service enhancements
- Maintain a clean, compliant dining environment and participate in quality assurance processes per health department regulations
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in a food service or dining operations role.
- Associate Degree in Business Management, Hospitality Management, a food-service related field (preferred, not required)
- Ability to lead and manage others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional customer service and train/motivate staff
- Basic knowledge of food safety standards and point-of-sale handling procedures.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on operational needs.
Licenses and Certifications: Serv-Safe Certification within 12 months of hire required.
