AFPGV Chapter Administrator (Independent Contractor)

The Association of Fundraising Professionals, Genesee Valley Chapter (AFPGV), seeks a passionate, talented, and self-motivated candidate to serve as its Chapter Administrator. This person is an essential part of our local chapter operations and enhances the member experience.

Summary of Role:

Provide comprehensive administrative support to AFPGV, managing chapter operations, events, communications, finances, and compliance with AFP Global guidelines. Remote position; personal internet and office space required. In-person event and meeting attendance may be required. Must be located in the Rochester, NY region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Administration: Member support, record keeping, email/mailing list management, website updates, vendor coordination, AFP Global liaison.
  • Communications & Website: Website content management, email marketing, social media coordination, promotional material creation, copywriting.
  • Membership Management: Database maintenance and management, respond to member inquiries, onboarding of new members, reporting.
  • Event & Program Management: Event support including: registration, logistics, sponsorship tracking, post-event evaluations.
  • Board Support: Meeting coordination, document management, policy maintenance.
  • Finances: Payment processing, maintain financial records, reconcile accounts, log gifts, submit invoices, issue receipts, and support annual tax prep and reporting.

  • Website content management
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Canva
  • Google Workspace
  • QuickBooks and financial record-keeping (Preferred, not required)
  • Event and records management
  • Proofreading and editing
  • Nonprofit experience (preferred)
  • Customer service
  • Mail handling
  • Self-sufficient and accountable.

Compensation: 1099 contract; $40 per hour; AFPGV will provide a laptop computer and printer.

*This position is budgeted at $40 per hour for up to 20 hours per week. Additional hours and expanded responsibilities may be considered for candidates with relevant financial management experience and qualifications.

This is a 1099 independent contractor role and does not include traditional employee benefits. Flexible schedule to align with chapter and member needs.
