UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health is now offering a HYBRID CNA Trainee Program!!
The first week of the program and are instructed completely online! The second week of the class is hybrid, a combination of online coursework and in person instruction. The third week is in person, you will start your career with Finger Lakes Health in clinical training. Once the three-week program is completed you will take the NYS certification exam.
The classroom and clinical instruction must take place on campus, at our Huntington Living Center in Waterloo, NY. Candidates that have not completed all online materials will not be able to attend clinical instruction.
Candidates that do complete all the required online course work will be offered $1500 BONUS and are guaranteed a CNA position with us after receiving their certificate!

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of supervisory nursing staff, provides daily care for residents to whom assigned. Assists in development of nursing care plans by participating in care conferences. The individual may be a trainee for no more than a maximum of 120 days from their date of hire. During classroom training time, the trainee is directly supervised by the Program Coordinator, Program Primary Instructor, and possibly additional trainers when utilized. During supervised clinical training time on resident unites, the trainee is directly supervised by the Program Coordinator, Program Primary Instructor, and possibly additional Nurse Aide Trainee Clinical Supervisors when utilized. Following completion of formal training, nurse aide trainees may be supervised by Nurse Managers, Charge Nurses, and Team Leaders on all 3 shifts during work time as they await results of NYS Competency Exam.

Must be able to read and write English
Preferred:
High school degree, GED, and/or Human Services degree (or coursework).

Prior Nursing Assistant, Long Term Care experience, or PCA/HHA experience.
SKILLS:
Minimum:
Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology.
Demonstrates ability to work under stress.
Able to relate to residents, staff, and visitors.
Must be currently enrolled in State approved Nurse Aide Training Program.
Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and providing basic nursing care to residents.
Understanding of standard techniques used in providing personal services for residents and in caring for equipment and supplies.
Good understanding of basis of asepsis to avoid infection of residents and self or contamination of equipment and supplies.
Salary Range: $18.44-$20.87
