Purpose: The Enterprise Architect is responsible for leading, designing and maintaining the bank’s enterprise blueprint, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategy. This role involves collaborating with other Technology stakeholders in defining technical standards, identifying areas for improvement, and developing architecture roadmaps that guide the bank’s technology decisions. The Enterprise Architect leads a team of Solution Architects and works closely with senior leadership, Technology teams, and key business stakeholders to implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions that meet the organization's needs by delivering successful business outcomes.

Location: Buffalo, NY. Rochester, NY. Warsaw, NY.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture blueprint: Create and manage a comprehensive view of the organization’s current and future technology landscape, including applications, infrastructure and data.
  • Align architecture with business strategy: Ensure that the enterprise architecture supports the organization’s strategic objectives and goals.
  • Identify and evaluate technology trends: Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies and their potential impact to the business, recommending appropriate adoption strategies to drive innovation within the organization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with business leaders, Technology teams, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions and future state architectures that meet their requirements.
  • Manage architectural governance: Collaborating with other Technology stakeholders, establish and enforce architectural standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Support technology roadmap development: Lead in the development and implementation of the organization’s technology roadmap.
  • Analyze and optimize the Technology landscape: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and drive down costs of the Technology environment.
  • Be a people Leader: Lead and mentor the solution architecture team, driving development of robust, scalable solutions.
  • Demonstrate the standards and principles of the Five Star Bank experience in every interaction with internal and external customers, associates, and stakeholders. Incorporate the high-performance behaviors of teamwork, leading by example, and service in every facet of work.

Job Related Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • Prior Experience: 10+ years of experience as an Enterprise architect in a Financial Institution or similar role.


Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of Technology infrastructure, cloud platforms and strategy, capability-based planning, cybersecurity, application portfolio management (APM) and enterprise systems.
  • Posses practical experience in developing Data and Information Strategies that have enabled successful business outcomes.
  • Excellent understanding and/or certifications in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, etc.).
  • Deep knowledge of various technologies and platforms and industry-specific standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in designing complex IT systems and solutions.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management, strategic planning, and budgeting.
  • Possess an innovative mindset
  • Experience in large-scale enterprise transformations (i.e.: ERP).

Compensation offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education and, where applicable, licenses or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to your base rate of pay and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates may be eligible to receive cash or equity-based incentives based on the role and performance.
