Purpose: The Director of Corporate Planning is responsible for overseeing strategic planning, leading transformation initiatives and managing enterprise project management across the organization. This position serves as a steward of complex strategic initiatives and will partner with senior leadership and executive members to shape and execute organizational transformation, aligning to corporate objectives and business strategies. The ideal candidate will be an adaptable leader, comfortable with complexity and ambiguity, possess strong financial acumen and budget management experience, able to navigate complex stakeholder relationships across the enterprise and balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position represents a unique opportunity to shape both the strategic direction and operational excellence of the organization through integrated project management.


Essential Functions:

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement corporate planning initiatives, ensuring alignment with the bank’s long-term objectives.
  • People Leadership: Lead and develop program and project managers, ensuring team members possess the necessary skills and expertise to PM assigned projects and initiatives. Build and mentor a high performing team.
  • Project Management Leadership: Lead, coordinate, and execute high-impact projects related to corporate planning, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery. Implement and refine project management processes, tools, and best practices driving successful delivery of program, projects, and initiatives.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement operational efficiencies to improve workflows, reduce costs, and enhance customer and employee experience.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with executive leadership, department heads, and external partners to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure all projects adhere to regulatory requirements and risk management frameworks, including compliance and maintaining internal controls to prevent undue exposure/risk to Five Star Bank.
  • Financial Planning & Budgeting: Support financial forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking for corporate initiatives. Present Annual Capital and Operational Budgets and execute within the approved budget. Financial acumen for budget management and resource allocation.
  • Technology & Innovation: Identify emerging trends in banking to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Reporting & Performance Metrics: Develop KPIs and reporting tools to track progress, measure success, and inform decision-making.
  • Demonstrate the standards and principles of the Five Star Bank experience in every interaction with internal and external customers, associates, and stakeholders. Incorporate the high-performance behaviors of teamwork, leading by example, and service in every facet of work.

Job Related Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Prior Experience: 10+ years of experience in corporate planning, strategy, or project management.
  • Licenses or Accreditation: PMP certification

Competencies:

  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication skills and ability to influence in a consultive manner.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies, software and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of operations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams and cross-functional projects.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and business intelligence tools.
  • Effective time management skills to manage conflicting priorities.

Compensation offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education and, where applicable, licenses or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
