Purpose: The Commercial Deposit Specialist is responsible for the establishment and management of deposit relationships for CRE and C&I clients to broaden the overall relationship. They will work closely with Relationship Management and Loan Administration Teams as well as Treasury Management and Branch Personnel in this endeavor.

Essential Functions:

  • Works directly with commercial clients to coordinate onboarding, opening, and ongoing maintenance of commercial deposit accounts.
  • Will have the ability to open accounts directly or through branch personnel.
  • Identifies opportunities to capture additional deposit opportunities by proactive and frequent follow-up communication with clients.
  • Works with Treasury Management in the identification and implementation of TM products for deposit relationships, including Managed Enrollment to Digital Banking.
  • Use of Salesforce as system of receiving, managing, tracking, and reporting workload.
  • Servicing deposit relationships will include deposit opening and closings, coordination, transfers, on-line banking support, and follow-up to address errors or problems.
  • Form excellent rapport with client financial teams including CFO’s, controllers, and accounting personnel.
  • Demonstrate the standards and principles of the Five Star Bank experience in every interaction with internal and external customers, associates, and stakeholders. Incorporate the high-performance behaviors of teamwork, leading by example, and service in every facet of work.


Job Related Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Prior Experience: 1+ Years of Financial Analysis, or Credit Analysis in Financial industry
  • Licenses or Accreditation: Any required licenses or accreditation required

OR

Required:

  • Education: Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Prior Experience: 3+ Years of Financial Analysis, or Credit Analysis in Financial industry
  • Licenses or Accreditation: Any required licenses or accreditation required

Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of deposit types, KYC requirements, and branch platform level deposit opening functions.
  • Thorough understanding of on-line and digital banking platforms.
  • Demonstrated understanding of commercial banking concepts and ability to communicate effectively with commercial client finance teams.
  • Familiarity with Treasury Management products and ability to work effectively with Treasury Management team in product implementation.
  • Highly motivated to achieve sales of deposit products through direct calling and follow-up efforts independent of Relationship Managers.
